Snowflake Showcase - only a few weeks left to grab it

I may only have one of the stamp sets from this suite, but I absolutely love it.   I managed to pick the one that was Christmassy only, however the other set has potential for all year around and the dies match stamps in both sets of stamps.

Now for the bad news, the White Velvet papers are sold out and the Snow is Glistening stamp set has almost gone, so if you want any of these products grab them now because I can guarantee that they will be gone by December 1st.

This week I have been looking at ink and card.  The first sample is a very simple card, just heat embossing (pure magic) and ink.  Its called the spotlight technique as you are using darker ink to draw the eyes to where the focus of the card.

The cardstock is Real Red and I used Merry Merlot ink as the first ink colour around the edge, leaving it darker at the edge but blending it in softly nearer to the embossed tree.  I then went around the edges with Early Expresso.  I find a dark brown colour has the same effect as black, but less harsh.

The second sample uses a watercolour technique with the ink refills.  I also mixed in a little of the Frosted White Shimmer Paint, the effect is hard to photograph, but lends a pearlescent finish to the ink.  I found the trick with this is to spray the card with water just before adding the ink, this means that the ink can move with the water before it evaporates or gets sucked into the cardstock.

I used Stazon ink to stamp, however I did add a lot of water so it moved a little - you could emboss with black or clear embossing powder.  But I like the effect of this card, and the colours make it a slightly different Christmas card.

Stampin' Up! have been answering our pleas buy producing some branded storage solutions.  The first one was a Demonstrator freebie if you attended Onstage Local or Live (Our bi-annual knees up where we stamp, craft, natter and see brand new products) you got this lovely Stampin' Up! tool kit.  Its quite large, with two zipped pockets, tool holder and a pocket at the  front.

However, there is some storage that you can purchase as a customer from 1st December.  The new Stamparatus Craft and Carry storage bag.  If you haven't got your Stamparatus yet you can purchase it with the bag or buy just the bag.

There is a storage solution you can purchase NOW as part of the Starter Kit.  The Craft Tote is a large bag that will; even accommodate the trimmer.  This will only be available until March, currently existing demonstrators can order it and new demonstrators can purchase it in their Starter Kit, but from January only new demonstrators will be able to purchase it with the Sale-A-Bration offer.
