Mini Envelope Album

I love trying to find different ways to use standard things. This min album uses envelopes to create the album, so with a few pages of DSP and the envelope punch board you can create something special to keep your memories. And as it is made from envelopes you can keep items like tickets, drawings, photos and tags as well as your essential journaling.

If you managed to grab some free DSP from last months sale, here is a great way to show it off!

That time of year again!

I know some love it and some hate it - hearing the 'C' word before October. My mum won't discuss it until her birthday is out of the way (November). However, a lot of crafters are now so over Christmas - having spent the last 3 or 4 months making projects and getting prepared for the busiest time of year.

Anyone selling craft products/projects knows that from September, Christmas items sell well all the way until the 25th December. Stock has been made - craft rooms, garages and dining room tables are creaking from weight of items and Christmas hats/jumpers/earrings are washed and ready for 3 months of solid use If this is you, I wish you all the best for an amazing end of year sales.

For the rest of us, those who make for friends and family, for our own joy and peace then the Stampin' Up! Autumn/Winter catalogue launches in just over a week and I have my Open House on Saturday 8th September 2-4pm. All are welcome, RSVP by the 5th and its completely free.

I will be showcasing some of the amazing new products and giving details of my monthly classes until December. You will also get your chance to get try out some of the projects yourself.

Here are a few sneak peeks and I hope to see you in about 2 weeks.

Animal Outing

Who doesn't love cute little critters every now and then?? Here is a video using the Animal Outing stamp set. This is perfect for new baby cards, new homes, new jobs. It is all about the 'new'.

I used these animals for a pre-schooler birthday my daughter was attending.

This weekend I hosted the Create a Little More class, these classes last a little longer and we do a few more complex projects, but with all the instructions still. Participation is by purchasing the bundles only.

The first one, you saw last week in a video tutorial, is this lovely box card inspired by Amanda Fowler. I love the depth you can achieve and the possibilities of this style of card.

The second card uses the In-Colour cardstock to create the background with the pictorial elements set into the card, I think the simplicity of the lines really let the story of the picture shine.

The last card was inspired by Kim McGillis, a sleeve card that could be given to anyone. I love the fresh combination of Blueberry Bushel and White, so crisp and summery.

Lilypad Lake Box Card

This weeks video is a box card using the Lilypad Lake bundle. The original box card idea came from Amanda Fowler at Inspiring Inkin'

This is actually a really simple card to make, and we will make this card at our Create a Little More class this weekend. The inspiration for the design came from a little picture that we have in our bathroom, probably no bigger than the card itself.

The dimensions are:

11 1/2" x 5 1/2"
Score at 5 1/2, turn around and score again at 5 1/2 and that should create an 1/2" spine in the card.
On the card front score from 2.5cm to 11.5cm on all 4 sides.
Score again from 4cm to 10cms on all four sides to create the frame.
Cut diagonally across the card front from all four corners of the outside frame.

August Class

I had my August class on Friday, and we all had a great time creating these projects.

Last week I showed you samples using the heron, with this class I focused on using some of the stamps in slightly different ways - this is what makes the stamp set so versatile.

This first card uses the Stamparatus to stamp the striped background. The stamp is meant to represent water, but can also make unique backgrounds as well. The Stamparatus has two plates that can be lifted up and off the base unit, you can then move the plates down the base unit one notch at a time, which enables you to have the same even gap between the repeated stamped image.

The Beautiful Day set just set the card off with the beautiful butterfly.

This card, again relies on one stamp - the sun image - to create the circle background. I also think the colours really add the fresh feel of the card.

Lastly we tried Mirror Stampin, using the Stamparatus again to ensure the image did not smudge on the acetate. I love the colours and the serene feel to the stamp set.
