Butterfly Gala Smooshing Card

I must apologise for not posting videos over the past month or so for Stampin' Up, life has got in the way - but hopefully, I am back on track.

This week I wanted to use the Butterfly Gala stamp set on its own.  Unfortunately, we have been without the Butterfly Duet punch since February so I wanted to create a card just using the stamp set.  The punch and the bundle should be available by the end of March, and it will be carrying over to the 2019-20 Annual Catalogue (although not at the great bundle price).

This technique is also great if you are scared of colouring.  By embossing in clear or black embossing powder the images resist the ink and therefore 'pop' from the card.  The 'smooshing' technique is random, you can't get it wrong (unless you use too many colours and it goes brown/grey) and each project will be unique.

Adding the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint adds a marbling effect to the inks, and you get these streaks and splodges of gorgeous shimmer layered in the ink.  I think it is beautiful.  I used the same technique with just shimmer paint on a piece of DSP and it looked like very expensive pink marble.

I hope you love pink shiny things!

This week I am thrilled to be apart of Kylie's Blog Hop.  Kylie is an Australian demo who hosts training for Demo's across the world, so I hope you are able to hop through these blogs and glean inspiration from all the fantastic projects.  Please add comments and likes were you can, all this helps to expose our blogs to the online world.

This week I want to talk to you about the Co-Ordinating Products for Sale-A-Bration items.  As you know, Sale-A-Bration items are free if you spend £45 across the Stampin' Up! range.  The Co-ordinating items can be purchased to compliment the items you may already have, including the new release of Sale-A-Bration items that went live a few weeks ago.

This project is quick and simple and shows the beauty of embossing folders.  Of course, I had to use my favourite Lovely Lipstick foil card.

The sentiment is from one of my favourite sentiment sets, particularly for cards that have no particular reason for sending, just to let people know you are thinking of them.  And of course, the punch is from the new Co-ordinating products.

This is my take on #simplestamping, and it really emphasises the gorgeous embossing folder.

Thank you for viewing, please click below to continue on this blog hop, let me know which projects you liked the best.

Good Luck in Green

This was a card we made out our last class.  It was such a quick and easy card to do and used the Blends to colour in the lettering.

The Stitched Rectangular dies from Stampin' Up really set the piece off and enables you to use such a large sentiment.

When I colour in the Stampin' Blends, which are alcohol markers, I use a waterbased ink to stamp the image (the two mediums will not bleed together then).  The Blends come in two shades per colour, light and dark shade.  I start with the dark shade and then blend with the light shade, making sure I go over all of the dark shade I have already laid down to ensure a nice smooth blend.  I know you can do a light-dark-light blend, but I find I get just as good a result with just a dark-light blend.  I would also recommend using the Whisper White or Very Vanilla thick card as it will hold the ink better and it is less likely to bleed.

A small gift for a wonderful friend

I thought I would enter this competition and see what happens.  The idea is that we upload an image of a project to Kylie's gallery and the people can vote for their favourite item.  Once the voting closes, the top ten form a blog hop.  I will put the link at the end for you to go and vote for your favourite project.

The theme for this month was 'encouragement', something we all need at some point, and so I made a small box for a little tealight as a gift for a friend.  It's actually something I put in her order from Christmas as she is such an inspirational lady that has worked hard to achieve some amazing results with her family and health.

The sentiment comes from the Sale-A-Bration stamp set 'Part of my Story', which has some fabulous sentiments that are great for all and anybody who needs a little boost, a thank you or just recognition for who they are.

Please take time to look through all the fabulous projects from around the world and vote for your favourite by clicking here: Vote For Me

Have you seen the second release of Sale-A-Bration Items

So, a couple of weeks ago Stampin' Up released a second set of Sale-A-Bration items (which was good as some items were starting to sell out!).

One of the stamp sets released was the All Adorned stamp set, which is a very decorative, tile-like set that will easily allow you to make repeat patterns, whether for a border or to cover the whole sheet of cardstock.

Here is a quick card I made using this set and the colours Grey Granite and Petal Pink.

Check out this months Fi's Paperbox, using the Amazing life bundle - a brilliantly versatile stamp set and the stitched rectangle dies.
