Some simple extra's from Stampin' Up!

There are lots of reasons for why we choose a certain route or choice of work (whether paid or voluntary or whether that is just how we choose to spend our time).  The more you love what you choose the more you enjoy it and want to share with others.

Papercraft is one of those things I choose to do and choose to share with others because I love it and enjoy the positive effect it has on my life, however, there just is never enough time to complete all that I set out to do.  Therefore I have decided to stop Fi's Paperbox as I was not able to dedicate the time it needed currently.

However, I still run month classes and I still do weekly videos on Youtube, that I link to this blog regularly so there are still plenty of ways to enjoy Fi's Papercraft.

This week's blog I am looking at the projects we completed for my Create a Little More Class, were Stampin' Up provided and exclusive template for us Demonstrators for the card box.  They also provide project tutorials and training on products and techniques throughout the year.

So we made this cute box and the four cards and envelopes to go into it, using the Butterfly Gala set and Gingham Gala suite.  My class really enjoyed doing something different and it wasn't that hard to complete either - particularly with the template.

The last project used the Sweet Cups and the free Botanical Butterfly papers from Sale-A-Bration (which has now ended for another year, boo hoo).

You still have time to order from the Spring/Summer catalogue and the 2018-19 Catalogue, which continue until the beginning of June.  However, be warned that already there have been sellouts and Stampin' Up! will not be re-stocking items.  In particular, keep your eye on the 2017-19 In-Colour sets of ink refills, ink pads, and cardstock packs - they always sell out before the of May.

Butterfly Gala Smooshing Card

I must apologise for not posting videos over the past month or so for Stampin' Up, life has got in the way - but hopefully, I am back on track.

This week I wanted to use the Butterfly Gala stamp set on its own.  Unfortunately, we have been without the Butterfly Duet punch since February so I wanted to create a card just using the stamp set.  The punch and the bundle should be available by the end of March, and it will be carrying over to the 2019-20 Annual Catalogue (although not at the great bundle price).

This technique is also great if you are scared of colouring.  By embossing in clear or black embossing powder the images resist the ink and therefore 'pop' from the card.  The 'smooshing' technique is random, you can't get it wrong (unless you use too many colours and it goes brown/grey) and each project will be unique.

Adding the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint adds a marbling effect to the inks, and you get these streaks and splodges of gorgeous shimmer layered in the ink.  I think it is beautiful.  I used the same technique with just shimmer paint on a piece of DSP and it looked like very expensive pink marble.

A Valentine's meaning

I guess we all know about Valentine's Dat and what it means to us and our relationship with someone who makes our lives richer, but I did ponder about love in general.  I feel that love is a mixture of emotions, love isn't love without trust, understanding, compassion, thoughtfulness, giving and desire.  We express the message behind Valentine's day most of the time with our loved ones and I think that is why I don't celebrate Valentine's excessively - I have a card and a small gift for my husband but I hope that our lives together and what we share is our Valentine's Gift.

I will share my Husband's Valentine's card later this week on Facebook, so for this post, I thought I would share with you the class I am running today at Binfield Craft Club.  I am so excited to be sharing Stampin' Up with them and I hope they love the projects.  Unfortunately, the Butterfly Punch has sold out until the end of March - but will carry over to the new 2019-20 Annual Catalogue.

I am not too sure how long the Grapefruit Grove and Lovely Lipstick Foil card will last in Sale-A-Bration, as that is flying out the shop currently, but if you like it - get it now!

It may be a bit early for Easter, but who doesn't like a little treat when they craft.  The topper could be for a birthday or even a 'thank you for coming' gift.
