Craft-A-long - Amazon Inspired Gift Cardholder - Thursday 1st October @ 1.30pm (British Summer Time).

This Thursday I will be hosting my very first craft along on Facebook, where you can join me in making a project.  Below you will find detailed instructions on making the gift card-holder, with all the dimensions and links to the materials I have used.  Please note, that in the Facebook Messenger Room I will be using a different set of DSP and colours.

To join please visit my Facebook Business Page> Events>Thursday 1st October (clickable) ask to join the room and we can craft together (fingers crossed!).

Here are the instructions:

Cut a piece of Gray Granite cardstock to 8 ¾” x 5”.  Score along the long side at 2 ¾” and 7 “.  Score ½” at each edge along the short side.

Using scissors or a trimmer cut along the 1/2” score lines on each side until you reach the 2 ¾” score lines (should be at right angles to the score lines you are trimming down).  This will leave you with two flaps to form the pocket with.

Fold along all the score lines, fold the two flaps over to form the pocket and glue.

Cut a piece of Misty Moonlight (MM) Cardstock to 6”x4 ½”.  Score along the long side at 1 ½” and 4 5/8”.  Score along the short side 1/2” on both edges.

Using scissors or a trimmer cut down the two ½” score lines until you meet the 1 ½” score line (at right angles to the score lines you are trimming).  This will leave you with two flaps to for the pocket with.

Fold all the score lines, fold the two flaps over to form the pocket and glue down.

Add glue to the back of the smaller pocket at the top and to the scoreline at 4 5/8”.  Glue this pocket to the inside of the larger pocket at the top and centralised.

Slip the smaller pocket inside the large pocket, so that when you open the larger pocket the smaller one moves to present the gift card to the recipient.

To decorate:

Outside

Back of the gift holder – MM 3 7/8” x 4 1/8”, the DSP layer – 3 ¾” x 4”.

Lid of the gift holder – MM 3 7/8” x 1 5/8”, the DSP layer – 3 ¾”x 1 ½”.

Bottom front of the gift holder – MM 3 7/8” x 2 5/8”, DSP layer 2 ¾” x 2 ½”.

Inside

Inside Lid – Seaside Spray cardstock – 3 3/8” x 1 1/8”, The DSP layer – 1 x 3 ¼”.

Middle section – SS – 3 3/8” x 1 ½”, the DSP layer – 3 ¼” x 1 3/8”.

Cut a piece of Snowflake Splendor Ribbon wrap around the gift cardholder and tie at the front, just above the edge of the lid.  I placed double-sided tape in a strip down the middle of the back, bottom front of the gift card and on the lid to hold the ribbon down.

Die-cut an oval from GG cardstock and stamp ‘to and from’ on it and add to the back.

Die-cut just the ‘Joy’ from the Balmy Blue Glimmer paper (with a self-adhesive sheet on the back to help) and the shadow from GG cardstock, layer together and add to the front of the gift cardholder.

Add a few gems from the Holiday Rhinestone set.
