Kylie's October Blog Hop!

Kylie Bertucci is an Australian Independent Stampin' Up Demonstrator who offers training for other demonstrators to help them grow their business and possibly earn the Incentive Trip - Maui in 2020!

A blog hop is way for you to see lots of different projects from all over the world, sometimes it is grouped around a theme.  This is the first blog hop of this Stampin' Up year and is a free for all!  You are going to see some amazing projects.

My projects this time focus on the Baker's Boxes in the Autumn/Winter catalogue (you can fit a donut in these ones).  I have made both of the boxes into shaker cards by adding a decorated layer of card underneath the acetate on the box lid.

In the 'Joy' box I used the Pattern Party Decorative masks and the silver embossing paste mixed with a little Blueberry Bushel ink.  This could be a box for any occasion, not necessarily Christmas.

With the next box I used one of the fantastic new stamp sets - Beautiful Baubles stamp set and the Frosted White Shimmer Paint on the outside of the box to add the Pearlescent sheen.

Stylish Christmas - Part 2

Last week I introduced you to the Stylish Christmas Distinktive stampset, this week I am looking at some of the accent stamps in the set.

I think the Holly leaves in this set are so gorgeous, and the large swirl can be used for any season.  It would look great on a Wedding card or birthday card.

I used the foiled side of the Joyous Noel Speciality DSP and used Copper Foil to mat the elements on, this helps to define the layers.  The little red gems from the Annual Catalogue just add that finishing touch.

This was all done with Copper embossing Powder and Copper Foil Card.  It just works so well, I may add some pearls or gems to the swirls of the decorative corner, as its Christmas!  I also ran the Copper Foil through the Subtle Embossing Folder, it looks stunning - I would thoroughly recommend playing with your foiled cardstock and this folder.

Rooted in Nature - Cut out Card

Rooted in Nature is the focus of my classes this month, and I have had fun creating some fun and different projects this month.

This video uses the dies as a cut-away in the card to show case the Designer Series Paper.  I used the Frosted White shimmer paint on the DSP, but it is so difficult to show on camera.  The paint applied as a thin coating gives the DSP a pearl like finish.  I Love it!

Stylish Season

I wanted to show you a a Christmas set from the Annual Catalogue this week (and next week as well).  This is a lovely Distinktive set.  The Distinktive Stamp sets have a graduated image that give sense of depth and shade to the image.  You can find a video on how to stamp with them here:

I found I got the best image by inking the stamps up with the ink pad, then using a dauber to just lift some of the ink off.  Less ink is better with these images.

I also thought I would use the opportunity to show you the different reds that have been used in the various Christmas Designer Series Papers released this year.

The first example uses the new Merry Merlot colour and the stunning Joyous Noel Speciality DSP.  I have used the non-foiled side, but the copper foiling really sets the paper apart.

This one is Cherry Cobbler and the Festive Farmhouse DSP.  There are lots of images to love about this paper, for me though the whitewashed wood image is stunning - I will probably use it for scrapbooking.

This Real Red and the Under the Mistletoe DSP from the Annual Catalogue.  I wasn't too sure about this paper as it uses a lot of different greens that technically should clash, however it works!

Last but not lease is Poppy Parade and the gorgeous Santa's Workshop papers.  I love this set, mainly because you can use the dies to die-cut out the images!  Oh yes, it has fluffy stuff on it as well.

These were four quick cards to make, and will look good on any mantlepiece this Christmas.
