Craft-A-Long - Have a Hoot Halloween Card - Thursday 8th October @ 1.30pm (BST)

Here are the details for Thursday's card.  You can use whatever suitable materials you have to craft along with me on Thursday.

The details for the Facebook Event are here - Have a Hoot Event - click on the event and then the ROOM at the top, which will be open a few minutes before 1.30pm.  If you do not have Facebook, just email me at fispapercraft@hotmail.co.uk and I can email you the link (unfortunately the link is only available once I have opened the Room).

Have a Hoot Halloween Card

Cut an A6 card blank from Whisper White cardstock.

Cut a piece of Basic Black Cardstock to 5 ¾” x 4” and cut a piece of Gold Foil Cardstock to 5 5/8” x 3 7/8”, lastly cut a piece of Whisper White to 5 ½” x 3 ¾”.  Layer the black and gold card onto the card blank.

Stamp the three owls in Black Memento Ink onto Whisper White and die cut out.

On to a craft mat swipe the three ink pads and spritz with water.

Place a piece of scrap paper lightly onto the spritzed ink first, then lay one half of the Whisper White topper on.  Dry with a heat tool, spritz some more water onto the craft mat and lay the Whisper White cardstock on again and dry with a heat tool, repeat until all the ink has gone or you are happy with the result.

Stamp the two owl images in Stazon Saddle Brown at the top and bottom (two of the images you die cut left additional designs out of the die-cut part, those are the two you are stamping).

Add the sentiment in Stazon Saddle Brown to the bottom right-hand-corner and to the centre of the card.

Add the die cut images to the card topper and layer onto the card blank.  Add a couple of the Playing with Patterns Resin Dots.

Want to make lots of sweetie bags for Halloween.....

Then this is the perfect video for you, this will show you a quick and easy way to decorate sweetie bags for your little monsters without spending hours making them (because we all have hours to spare....)

Just to go over the dimensions of the bag topper again, it was 5" wide (the width of the bag I was using) and 3" deep, scored at 1.5" to fold in half over the top of the bag opening.

Quick and simple.  You could step it up by adding glitter to the bat wings using the Fine Tip Glue.

Here is the video:

Halloween, Christmas and a thank you - all in one class!

Last week I held my monthly card-making classes - Simply Fun Class - where you can come along have a good natter and little bit of fun putting together some simple projects.

This month I focused on the Rooted in Nature suite, this has a mega large stamp set, framelits, papers and much more.  I have had so much fun using this set, you will too!

In the UK halloween is getting more and more popular, but it is still not something that we would send cards out for or make a huge fuss over (see my instagram page for some cute Halloween projects over the next few weeks Fionas1976).  However, we do like the goodie bags and the hone decor pieces, so one of the projects was this:

Super cute Halloween box using the silver gabled boxes in the Annual Catalogue. A bit of washi tape and using the 'Black Ice' Technique on the silver foiled oval.

Obviously I had to add a Christmas project in, and this used the Champagne Shimmer Paint to 'ghost' the stamped images, it really adds that extra bit of class to projects.

This last project is super quick and cute, just change the colours to reflect you mood at the time and I just love the skeleton leaves stamps (you get two in different sizes).  I made this in to a thank you card.

Every one at the classes this week loved the projects and loved having a chance to unwind with everyone else.

If you can't make it to class but would still like to natter and craft along in a small way, then join my Facebook group, Papercraft for All

Halloween 4....

This is my last post on Halloween, I have really enjoyed this series of posts, as Halloween isn't a holiday I would normally focus on. My children enjoy Trick or Treating (well the sweets anyway), I am not so keen on knocking on strangers houses! However, it has become quite a nice way of meeting neighbours and new people in the area.

I also have a stall at a Halloween Fun day, organised to raise funds for a local charity. All the items you have seen over the past month will be available for sale, as well as having the opportunity to find out more about Stampin' Up, the classes I hold and how you can be involved.

This week I focused on the Pick a Pumpkin bundle, this is a stamp and die set. I love this die set particularly for two dies (well I like all the pumpkin dies as well, but....) which are the delicate little pumpkin vine dies as they make beautiful flourishes on any card. I have used them with the Champagne Sheets to add delicate details under other dies or on corners of toppers.

I do also like the foliage dies in here as well, mainly because I didn't have leaves and branches in dies before, and foliage is one of the must haves with dies, brilliant for just adding that finishing detail. Here I decorated the little 2x2" acetate with DSP and die-cut the detailed pumpkin die and the vines from contrasting DSP. I also covered amply with Wink of Stella (Clear) - but its hard to see in the
picture.

Here is an example of those little foliage and vine dies in a thank you card.  Not Halloween or really autumnal in style.  Try mixing the colours up and see what styles you get.

I love the acetate boxes, so useful for little treats. Here I made a little holder for three pencils and decorated with the pumpkins and their cheeky faces, very easy to stamp and die-cut. I also used the gorgeous new Black Gems, I hope these continue as they are amazing for projects like this. I can also see them being used in monochrome cards and projects.

I hope you loved this series and it would be great to hear any feedback you have. During November I will be looking at Christmas cards (obvious I know).

My next Workshops are on November 3rd and 7th. Please book by Friday 27th October.

I have a special class based on the new Stampin' Blends on Wednesday 8th November (Sorry the date was wrong in the Newsletter). Booking closes on November 1st.

Easy Peasy Memory Keeping is on Monday 13th November at 7pm, booking closes on Monday 6th November.

Kit Saturday is on the 18th November and concentrates on the the Watercolour Christmas kit, booking closes on the 11th November.
