Emboss resist Card
This week's video uses a technique that I love. It is so simple, but gives a stunning result. This is the Emboss resist technique. I have stamped with versamark and embossed with white embossing powder, then blended ink over the top. You can do this technique with just the clear versamark ink for a similar effect (the result is a little more subtle).

Bag Card
As promised last week, I thought I would start this blog post off with the card we made at last weeks Open House. Normally I do quite a simple card, but for some reason this time I splurged a little for my guests!
Now that the Mini Treat Bag die has retired, the envelope punch board makes quite a nice replacement for making bag cards (as I call them). This is a card with a tab that slides out of open topped bag, or envelope in this case.
As well as the rooted in nature bundle I also used the Tabs for Everything stamp set and punch bundle. This is another useful set, great for little additions on cards as well as planners and tags.
The new 1/8 grosgrain in-colour ribbon just finishes the card off, simple colours but WOW effect.
I think the 6x6 DSP stacks will be very useful, there are 6 packs in total that cover the 2017-19 and the 2018-20 in-colours, as well as the four colour families. Each pack has 40 sheets and will co-ordinate with all the cardstock and ink pads the Stampin' Up stock (don't you love colour co-ordination!).

Open House
WOW, thank you so much to everyone who came on Saturday to welcome the new 2018-19 Catalogue in to the world! I really appreciate your time and your enthusiasm and I hope you left with everything you wanted (well needed with a list for the rest).
I will show you the card we made next week, but this week I wanted to focus on a stamp set that may get missed, because it has a lot of small stamps that some people may have difficulty using - so I thought I would share one or two creations I made using it.
Its called In Every Season and is on p46 of the catalogue, it has 12 flowers. I am sure each flower is meant to represent a month, however I am still trying to name them all (leave a comment with your suggestions). Although you could try and match to each month, I think it would be difficult (there will probably be many combinations), but it isn't necessary. The samples I made, only one relied on it being the correct flower for the month - you can guess which one!
I mixed this one with an existing stamp set and die set - At Home With You. I wanted the effect of the flowers bursting through the door way, full of colour and energy. The sentiment os from colourful seasons.
Simple and elegant, I hope that is what I achieved with this Christmas card, and it will be one of the cards you can make at my Christmas in July Stamp 'n' Stack. Did you notice the texture on the card? This is the new Subtle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, you can now give every card that expensive linen effect.

Lastly, this card uses patterned paper from the Tranquil Textures DSP pack. Simply by embossing on silver onto the DSP, lifts the colour and the topper. Great way of using patterned paper if you are not sure what to do with it.
