Bright and Merry Altered Tin

Have you made an altered tin?  This was a first for me and was not as scary as I thought it would be.  As usual, I didn't necessarily plan what I was doing but had a rough idea as to how I wanted it to look and feel.

I have created a YouTube video, as that is an easier medium to show how I put it together, however, I think it is important to just get out there and try your own take on an altered tin and see just how easy it is to do.

Measurements

The strips that wrap around the lid and bottom of the tin are 12 x 3/8" (30cms x 1cm) (top) and 12 x 1/2" (30cms x 1.3cm) (bottom).  They do not quite make it all the way around, therefore I added the sentiments to cover the gaps.  These are ad-hoc sizes, depending on the sentiments you want to use.

The rectangles of designer series paper (DSP) that go on the top, inside of the lid and the bottom of the tin are all 4"x 23/8" (10cm x 6.5cm).  The inside of the tin is slightly smaller, however, I just used my fingernails to push the DSP into all the edges and this worked fine.

Here is the link to the video.

Family Christmas

This is my last blog post before Christmas, and there will not be a post next Wednesday.  Service will be resume on Wednesday 3rd January will full swing into the Occasions 2018 Catalogue and the Sale-A-Bration Mini Catalogue!

Last cards I want to show you are the ones for my family.

These three are for my three girls, using bits and pieces I had cut out but not used.

This one was for my husband, who has been very supportive of my business this year.  It also uses a new product from the Occasions Catalogue - Brusho Crystal Colour.

As I stated the next post will be about the new catalogues.  If you would like a copy please message me and I will post one out, or you can see it online from the 2nd January.

In the meantime have a lovely Christmas and New Year, and don't forget to shop on the Clearance Rack (updated this week) and the Year End Sale.

Ok, there is no logic to the items I am showing you today, they are all Christmas related and are items that are for sale this Weekend at King Edwards Hall, Ascot for the Girl Guides Shopping Night (5-10pm).

I guess the one common thread is that I have used the blends on both samples, this one uses the blends roughly coloured on vellum to give the right feel to the card.  This is a simple way of using blends if you are not sure about colouring.  They work better on vellum than the markers as the alcohol dries faster.

I used the Seasonal Chums bundle to create these cute tags for some sweetie tubes.  The Treat Tubes and tags works so well together, I loved colouring these in with the blends.  It took a little time to complete (I did do 22 altogether) but was relaxing and fun.  The little scalloped tag that comes with the die set will be so useful even after Christmas.

They make cute card toppers a well.

Just a reminder that the Stamparatus reservations open for the first time tomorrow, this will be such a popular and useful tool.  If you are in two minds still, check out this video from Stampin' Up explaining what it is all about.

Remember if you reserve your Stamparatus (nominating myself, Fiona Stanton as your demonstrator) and complete the order when the time comes, you will get an invite to a FREE Stamparatus class showing you the versatility of your new toy!
