Halloween 4....

This is my last post on Halloween, I have really enjoyed this series of posts, as Halloween isn't a holiday I would normally focus on. My children enjoy Trick or Treating (well the sweets anyway), I am not so keen on knocking on strangers houses! However, it has become quite a nice way of meeting neighbours and new people in the area.

I also have a stall at a Halloween Fun day, organised to raise funds for a local charity. All the items you have seen over the past month will be available for sale, as well as having the opportunity to find out more about Stampin' Up, the classes I hold and how you can be involved.

This week I focused on the Pick a Pumpkin bundle, this is a stamp and die set. I love this die set particularly for two dies (well I like all the pumpkin dies as well, but....) which are the delicate little pumpkin vine dies as they make beautiful flourishes on any card. I have used them with the Champagne Sheets to add delicate details under other dies or on corners of toppers.

I do also like the foliage dies in here as well, mainly because I didn't have leaves and branches in dies before, and foliage is one of the must haves with dies, brilliant for just adding that finishing detail. Here I decorated the little 2x2" acetate with DSP and die-cut the detailed pumpkin die and the vines from contrasting DSP. I also covered amply with Wink of Stella (Clear) - but its hard to see in the
picture.

Here is an example of those little foliage and vine dies in a thank you card.  Not Halloween or really autumnal in style.  Try mixing the colours up and see what styles you get.

I love the acetate boxes, so useful for little treats. Here I made a little holder for three pencils and decorated with the pumpkins and their cheeky faces, very easy to stamp and die-cut. I also used the gorgeous new Black Gems, I hope these continue as they are amazing for projects like this. I can also see them being used in monochrome cards and projects.

I hope you loved this series and it would be great to hear any feedback you have. During November I will be looking at Christmas cards (obvious I know).

My next Workshops are on November 3rd and 7th. Please book by Friday 27th October.

I have a special class based on the new Stampin' Blends on Wednesday 8th November (Sorry the date was wrong in the Newsletter). Booking closes on November 1st.

Easy Peasy Memory Keeping is on Monday 13th November at 7pm, booking closes on Monday 6th November.

Kit Saturday is on the 18th November and concentrates on the the Watercolour Christmas kit, booking closes on the 11th November.

Halloween 3

And this week it is a Halloween post.

It's not far away now, and I will be at Ockwell's Park on the 29th October with lots of Halloween goodies for you (and a few Christmas ones)!.

This week I wanted to highlight the scrumptious Spooky Night Designer Series paper.  As you would imagine for a Halloween themed paper, it is heavy on the Orange and Black (Basic Black and Pumpkin Pie).  It has wicked cats, potions and hats, but also has plain decorative papers on the reverse, which I feel are very 70's in look (which I love).

Here are a few ideas as to how I have used the cardstock.

For a quick and easy Halloween gift, cover some blank wooden coasters in the paper and seal.  It takes minutes to do and look so effective.

For a quick goodie bag for the kids (or older 'kids'), stuff a bag with goodies and then wrap the top with the DSP.  I have used staples to secure it and then covered with washi tape to keep it safe and added a greeting with the reverse side of the DSP>

With this card I have also used the Christmas in the Making stamp set as well as the Spooky Nights DSP, this shows how versatile the items in the Autumn/Winter catalogue can be.

Keep an eye out for my Newsletter this weekend with details of an amazing launch and the workshops for next month.

Halloween 2... (Sort of)

This week I wanted to take a look at the Painted Harvest stamp set, which I am sure you have seen all over Pinterest – and rightly so.  This has become a very popular and versatile set.  It comes with a punch for the leaves, - I didn’t get the punch but I had a chance to play with it at training last week.

When you join Stampin’ Up, you are not only getting a great discount on fabulous products but you join a family of soon-to-be great friends.  We meet up regularly to share progress, news and to stamp, and one of the projects we completed was this Acetate box with three cards, all using the Painted Harvest Set and Punch.

These are cards we made this week at the Workshop, they were great fun to do.

Here are a couple more samples, using the flower in a slightly different way.  It can make a great wreath – here I have used it greys for a cool look.

Oh... by the way this is the class we will be doing on Saturday 21st October, booking closes this Friday!

Well, I did say I would be highlighting Halloween this month, so here is a quick spooky pizza box.  The ribbon is coloured in using the new Stampin’ Blends, alcohol markers.  These are only available to Demonstrators at the moment, so to get your hands on them, you have until the 15th October to sign up and put them into you Starter Kit.  Currently, we do not know when they will be released to customers.

If you wish to order any of the supplies I have used, just click below, or email me any questions.

Halloween 1...

I promised I would share with you my Halloween makes during October*, and here is my first batch.

These use the Seasonal Chums stamp and die bundle.  Theses make really cute tags for your gifts and packaging.  The main dies include a snowman, reindeer and a pumpkin, however there are also a whole selection of accompanying dies to work with the main ones.

Here is the pumpkin tag, wrapped around a lollypop with the bat and sentiment from the die/stamp set as well.  Very cute and sweet, and ideal for trick or treating buckets.

You don’t need to just use them as tags you can cut into them and use them on your cards or projects, here I have used the pumpkin for home décor piece.  In the UK, if you decorate your house people know that you welcome trick or treaters, and this is a nice way to do so.

The reindeer and snowman are also incredibly cute as tags, and these are just some examples of how you could use them.  I do love the additional tag die you get in the set to add sweet little messages, and you get a 'To and From' stamp in the set.

I will be posting additional projects with these tags on Instagram throughout the week, search for me via fionas1976.

Have a look at the online store this week, there are two amazing deals for you.  Buy get 1 DSP for FREE (Selected DSP’s only) and 15% of matching stamp sets as well.  The DSP deal lasts all month, however the matching stamp sets (and two free Fast Fuse refills when you buy a fast fuse offer) only lasts until the 10th October.

Lastly, are you a colourist?  Have you ever thought about joining as a demonstrator?  Well until the 15th October you can add the NEW blends alcohol markers to your starter kit and get ahead of the crowd.  There is also a Colour me Happy stamp set and project kit to get you started.  Currently, there is no launch date for customers (although we expecting it before Christmas), so to guarantee your set contact me by the 15th October.

*I will be at the Halloween Fun Day, hosted by Angela’sAppeals, at Ockwell Park on Sunday October 29th selling all the items I showcase on my blog.  Come and say hello and chat to me about parties, classes or becoming a demonstrator.
